Madheli is a rural settlement with strong ecological potential but faces challenges such as fragmented public spaces, underperforming infrastructure, and lack of a cohesive identity. The project envisions transforming it into a model village by strengthening natural assets especially the lake edge while improving everyday infrastructure, anganwadi facilities, streets, and community spaces using locally appropriate, climate responsive design. At the core, the Madheli Prathmik Shala acts as a demonstration hub for sustainable practices like rainwater harvesting, waste management, and kitchen gardens. By making these systems visible and usable, the project promotes community awareness and creates a scalable model for resilient rural development.
