Set along the sacred Narmada River, the villages of Chanod and Karnali are envisioned as a unified heritage landscape rooted in culture and everyday life. The project focuses on revitalizing ghats, temple precincts, and village streets through context-sensitive design that preserves their traditional character. Interventions include improved river edges, organized ritual and public spaces, shaded walkways, and locally responsive street elements. The vision is to enhance the pilgrim experience while supporting local livelihoods, establishing Chanod–Karnali as a model for heritage-led rural development.
