This project focuses on the holistic rejuvenation of a rural lake as a vital ecological and social asset within the village ecosystem. The intervention includes desilting, water inflow management, edge treatment with native vegetation like vetiver, and biodiversity revival through floating wetlands and aquatic habitats. Beyond ecological restoration, the project also integrates placemaking strategies—creating safe access, walking paths, community gathering spaces, and recreation zones for children and elders. The rejuvenated lake will serve as a groundwater recharge zone, a climate-resilient water source, and a cultural commons. Local community participation and stewardship are central to the project, ensuring long-term sustainability and impact.
